Product types and fields
This, is a list of the main product areas where I have got expertise. Below are examples of my work in the same fields.
1- Consumer products
2- IT and other electronics based products products
3- Office products
4- Industrial products
5- Transport products
6- Medical products
7- Military products
Through the years, I have worked on several product types and their respective fields. This has given me the experience and the know-how to tackle new products in these fields.

I also take the knowledge from one field to another. For instance, I worked for several years on the design of military computers and, today, I take my expertise from this field to that of ruggedised commercial and consumer products. An example of this is rugged protection for iPads for use in hospitals.

I am always ready to tackle new product types and areas, such as where you, the Client, want a fresh approach to your product design.

This is a product area that has the largest variety of product types including toys, domestic appliances, mobile communications, vehicles, safety products, furniture and architectural elements. I have worked on all these areas and more.

The consumer products field is the most versatile in the range of materials and manufacturing process that can be used of these products. I have worked on moulded plastics of several types, machined metals, Glass Reinforced Plastic, wood, glass, moulded rubber and carbon fibre materials.

This is also an area where most individual inventors have ideas and where I have helped several of them to develop their ideas through Computer Aided Design, prototyping and organising manufacture.

A very rapid growth area, where electronics are being incorporated to anything from T-shirts to sailing boats. Electronics development are fast and I endeavour to keep up with new developments that can be applied to the products I design.

My expertise allows me to work in conjunction with electronics engineers. I understand their work and we work in parallel with me designing the mechanical aspects of the electronic components. Constant 3 way communication Client-Designer-Electronics engineer is essential.

My work on the electronics, as a designer, is to determine the functions that the electronic parts should have for the product performance, their size and configuration within the product shape and design, their protection against damage and assembly within the product.

I spent many years designing computer products for the military industry: British Army, British Navy, American Army and European Armies. Their development involved a very rigorous process to work in a large team and to deadlines and procedure requirements.

The products were subjected to very rigorous tests to comply with British Defence Standards, Naval Engineering Standards, American MIL standards and European Standards such as IP-IEC.

The protection for the equipment included shock, vibration, under water explosion, bump, drop, high and low temperatures, temperature shock, scratch, impact, dust, water and sand ingress, RFI, Tempest and altitude.
